RITA HAYWORTH (1918–1987) Height: 1.68 m.
Rita Hayworth (born Margarita Carmen Cansino) was born in Brooklyn, New York (United States), on October 17, 1918. Her parents were also involved in the entertainment industry; Eduardo Cansino was a Spanish dancer who had arrived in the United States in 1913, and Volga Haworth worked as a showgirl for the impresario Florence Ziegfeld. Rita first gained prominence in the performing arts by dancing alongside her father. In 1946, she starred in her most legendary film—the one that would make her an object of desire for male audiences—“Gilda.” This landmark movie was directed by Charles Vidor and co-starred Glenn Ford, who famously delivered a slap to her character. In the film, Rita sensually performed the songs "Put the Blame on Mame" and "Amado Mío," though the voice heard was actually that of Anita Ellis, not Rita’s. Rita Hayworth passed away in Manhattan, New York, on May 14, 1987, at the age of 68, following a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is buried at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City, Los Angeles (California).
She was married five times and had two children: Rebecca, with Orson Welles, and Yasmin, with Aly Khan.
